What is Long Term Visit Pass?

A Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) is a type of visa issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore. It allows foreign nationals to stay in Singapore for an extended period, typically for family reunification purposes.

An advanced version of LTVP is Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+). The LTVP+ allows holders to stay in Singapore for three years, and can be subsequently renewed for up to five years per renewal. This is applicable to spouses of Singaporean citizens or Permanent Residents.

Benefits Of Having a Long Term Visit Pass for Foreigners in Singapore

These are the benefits you enjoy as a Long Term Visit Pass holder:

1. Extended Stay:

The LTVP allows foreigners to stay in Singapore for a longer duration compared to a standard short-term visit pass. You can stay in Singapore for up to two years with an LTVP and the pass can be renewed for subsequent periods. Besides, LTVP+ holders can stay in Singapore for three years initially, and can be renewed for up to five years.

2. Family Reunification:

Enables foreign spouses, children, and parents to live with their Singaporean family members, fostering closer ties and support.

3. Education Access for Children:

Children on an LTVP can enroll in local schools, providing them with access to Singapore’s high-quality education system. Children of LTVP+ holders are given priority for school admissions after Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

4. Employment Opportunities:

LTVP+ holders can work in Singapore without needing to apply for a separate work pass, making it easier to contribute economically.

5. Access to Healthcare:

LTVP holders qualify for public healthcare subsidies at polyclinics and public hospitals, making medical services more affordable.

6. Pathway to Permanent Residency:

Holding an LTVP can be a step towards obtaining permanent residency in Singapore, offering more stability and long-term benefits.
